Radiotherapy Surgery

Each year cancer research programs continue to grow: funding increases, new technologies make year-old discoveries obsolete, and more doctors and scientists contribute their ideas and methods to understanding and eradicating cancer. As these strides are made, more treatment options become available and fewer people are forced to endure painful and invasive treatments.

Men over the age of seventy have traditionally been given radiation or hormone treatment for prostate gland cancer and have been considered too old for surgery to be an option. A recently released study looking at a large group of men in Canada has however suggested that it might just be time to tear down this arbitrary age barrier.

Chan had breast cancer. She underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and was put on Arimidex. Soon afterwards she suffered severe pains throughout her body, her gut bled causing severe anaemia and her liver was full of metastatic nodules.

Breast surgery is undertaken in two cases: - Breast augmentation - Breast reconstruction - Breast Augmentation:- Breast surgery for breast augmentation involves making a single incision in or near the breast and inserting the implant either between the breast and the chest muscle (sub-glandular placement) or behind the chest muscle (sub-muscular placement). A second incision can be made in the natural crease under the breast, called the infra-mammary crease approach.

Prostate cancer is one of the most deadly diseases in men over the age of fifty. Although prostate cancer develops in men over fifty, it often takes about a decade to really begin to show. There are ways to treat prostate cancer, the most common and first method being prostate cancer surgery. Prostate cancer surgery is generally able to at least temporarily, if not permanently, get rid of the cancer. An enlarged prostate is one of the most common signs that surgery is needed.

According to a new market research report by ReportLinker.com, they forecast that the global market for cosmetic surgery services will reach the $40 Billion mark by the year 2013, up from $31.7 Billion in 2008, for a compound annual growth rate of 5.2%. The study suggests that the global market for cosmetic products in this market segment is much smaller, and estimated to reach about $7 Billion in revenues in 2013, up from $4.4 Billion in 2008, with a compounded annual growth rate of 9.5%.

Many patients who took Arimidex for their breast cancer suffered side effects. This is my advice to patients: Look far and wide – there are other options available in the horizon. My experience shows that for some patients, taking the "alternative, holistic" path could prove to be a more humane and effective path for their cancers.

Treatment of colorectal cancer completely depends upon the stage it is at. In its initial stages, colorectal cancer can be treated successfully. However, as the disease advances, it becomes severe and therefore, the treatment also becomes complicated.
